Monday 9th of May researchers from AP&S, Alt_Shift*Inter-Actions and Fluid Futures will get together to share (and create new?) knowledge in relation to their own (creative and research) practices, through a common lens on ‘situated creative practices’. The main goal of this day is twofold: first, to create a common space -and time- for inter and transdisciplinary collaborations between KU Leuven & LUCA researchers in art, design and architecture; and second, to explore and test how this space can serve as a moment for sharing and creating knowledge, therefore putting in place a transdisciplinary pedagogical experiment. The OS will take place at Korenbeek, a temporary occupation in Molenbeek managed by Toestand.

The notion of Situated Creative Practices has a twofold connotation: on one side, it refers to the site and time sensitivity of the practices that we engage with and, on the other, the tools and tactics we use to critically position ourselves in relation to the contexts where we operate. The sessions will focus on sharing the work of the three research groups, as well as addressing the following questions: (1) how do our practices (creative and/or research) relate to the politics of place and time? (2) how do we critically position ourselves in relation to the places where we work? is this manifested in the ways we work or in the things we produce? and (3) in which ways can we integrate issues of race, class, sexuality, gender and ability in our practice?
